Judicial review & administrative law

Increasingly, Chambers offers expertise in administrative law matters which are closely related to, or emanate from, Family Law proceedings.

In particular, members of Chambers have experience of:

  • Advising and representing local authorities in relation to their obligations to pay fostering allowances;
  • Advising and representing local authorities in relation to the financial obligations to children leaving care;
  • Acting in cases in relation to children with disabilities leaving care but needing protection under the MCA 2005.

A number of members have acted for Local Authorities in Judicial Review proceedings. Chambers is also developing its wider Judicial Review work in family cases, such as may form e.g. an adjunct to care proceedings, in the light of Re W and other recent cases.

Members of Chambers are also willing to act in regulatory work before the First Tier (Care Standards) Tribunal involving the regulation of persons working with children and vulnerable adults. For more information as to the Members practicing in these areas please contact our clerks or call 020 7797 7900.
