Practice Profile
Susan's has a range of skills and knowledge covering public and private law relating to families and children. This encompasses most areas including children, both public and private proceedings and international issues, adoption, divorce, injunctions and finance. She represents all the different parties and thus has a rounded understanding of the issues and concerns of all parties. She has experience of all types of ancillary relief cases from higher value cases to those involving more limited assets. She is regularly instructed on behalf of local authorities, parents and children's guardians.

She has advised on cases involving a foreign element, pensions, and dissipation of assets, financial provision for children and all aspects of financial provision following the irreparable breakdown marriage. Susan has acted as a 'stand-in' judge were she has been asked to provide a judge's opinion in a residency case as to whether a child stay within this jurisdiction or move to South America.

Her work covers all aspects of divorce, high value ancillary relief and the division of assets, care proceedings, residence and contact disputes. Despite more usually being called upon to litigate cases in the Court, Susan has a reputation for resolving cases in a sensitive manner in the best interest of clients who are often emotionally troubled by the whole legal process. Susan is a qualified collaborative lawyer and remains one of the few barristers trained in this area.

She provides clients with a personal, friendly and highly approachable service and is often called upon to work with other experts to ensure that the solution arrived at is in the best interests of her client. Her professional approach inspires confidence and her open, approachable manner helps her rapidly to create a rapport with clients and with her instructing solicitors.
