Once received by us, applications will be screened by the Pupillage Committee for evidence of, amongst other things:
Timetable
Applications are required by the OLPAS summer closing date for pupillages starting in October of the following year. Please follow the guidelines at www.pupillages.com
Chambers receives a large number of applications for pupillage which we will endeavour to deal with promptly. Please do not telephone Chambers to enquire about receipt or progress of your application.
Following the OLPAS deadline, selected applicants will be called for interview on one day, usually a Saturday, in July. If considered necessary by Chambers, there may be a second round of interviews shortly thereafter.
Pupillage interviews are conducted by the Pupillage Committee, comprised of members from a cross section of Chambers' practice and experience. The format of the interview will be the same for each candidate and objective selection criteria will be applied uniformerly to each application.
Candidates will be requested to attend their interview 20 minutes before their allotted time to consider a problem question and they should be prepared to analyse and discuss this at the interview. Knowledge of Family Law is not necessary to complete this exercise.
Offers of pupillage will be sent out in accordance with the OLPAS timetable.
